Scuba Diving Journey – 4 Days / 3 Nights

Itinerary

Early we will go to “La Via a la Costa” to the first experience on the sea in Ayangue. Once there, we will take our boat to go to El Pelado Island. The best place to dive is called Islote El Pelado, approximately 20 minutes from the coast. Here you will be able to observe marine turtles, lobsters, octopus, reef sharks, manta rays, puffer fish, parrotfish and unique coral. Ayangue is a diving spot for experienced divers as well as beginners. Later, we will drive to Montañita, accommodation and rest.

Early in the morning we will take the road Salango. There we will take about boat to go to Salango Island. Salango Island is located southwest of the commune and 20 minutes south of Puerto Lopez. It covers about 200 hectares and is a natural refuge for native birds such as pelicans, seagulls, blue paws, etc. Historically Isla Salango was the most important cosmo-ceremonial center of six pre-Columbian cultures (Valdivia, Machalilla, Chorrera-Engoroy, Bahía, Guangala, Manteña) of the Ecuadorian coast. They extracted the famous shell of Spondylus to offer it as a sacrifice to their gods. Salango Island has an underwater platform of about 3 meters deep where through the surface diving or snorkeling you can appreciate a variety of goldfish, coral reefs and all the infinite beauty of the marine fauna. Obviously for these experiences and this has qualified divers and native guides that are located in the doom.

Today we will explore an exciting scuba diving tour to Los Ahorcados Island, located off the coast of Ecuador. Explore the underwater wonders of the Pacific Ocean as you descend into the depths surrounding the island. Discover vibrant marine life, including colorful coral reefs and a diverse array of fish species. With crystal-clear waters and a thriving underwater ecosystem, Los Ahorcados Island provides an unforgettable scuba diving experience for enthusiasts of all levels. In the morning, we will take our boat to go to Isla de la Plata. Isla de la Plata is an island situated about two hours by boat from Puerto Lopez. Dubbed the “poor man’s Galápagos,” Isla de la Plata has many of the animals commonly found in the Galápagos such as blue footed boobies, frigates, white-tipped sharks, manta rays, humpback whales, dolphins and sea lions. Here you can also find the famous Spondylous oyster, used as a currency during Inca times. The island is a perfect location for both diving and snorkeling. Serious scuba divers will find excellent diving services here as well. And from June to October, dive trips to the island can be complemented with whale watching. Afternoon we will come back to Puerto Lopez and from then we will return to Guayaquil about 2 hours’ drive.
